Georgia Southwestern University
Modern Pyramids, Inc. was commissioned for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering at a University System of Georgia institution in Americus, GA. The estimated cost for the renovation of the second floor of the Georgia Southwestern University Business and History building is approximately $450,000. Modified areas included instructional spaces, administrative and faculty offices. In addition to enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the faculty rooms, the reception and conference areas were upgraded along with lavatories.
The stylish designs of architects from Vincent Pope and Associates was well liked by the department dean and student body. MPi's role included complimenting the architectural layout by integrating into existing building systems customized renovations to the HVAC system, redesign of area power and lighting, retrofitting plumbing fixtures, and redesign of fire alarm devices to contemporary building codes and standards.
The heart of the GSWU renovation projest is the classroom renovations which brought state-of-the art audio-visual presentation technologies. Sophisticated yet easy-to-use Smart Panels are installed for professor or lecturer operation.

The GSWU Smart Panels controls and configure presentation tools. Relays control projection screens. Timers deactivate inactive equipment. The instructional environment is centrally managed. The instructor's workstation centrally manages the operation of audio-visual equipment. Acoustics and projection screens now can be conveniently and quickly altered in a glance.
Grady Hospital - Pharmacy Renovation
Modern Pyramids provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering for Atlanta-based architectural firm Vincent Pope and Associates. This renovation project modernized the pharmaceutical area at Atlanta's prominent public hospital and trauma center. Pill dispensing machines were efficiently installed behind counter servers. Workstations and security cameras were interconnected to the existing fiberoptic-based telecommunications network.
MPI's role included providing specifications and bid documents to Grady project administrators for public bidding. MPI provided field visits to lend aid towards the construction efforts.
Metropolitan Bowling Lanes
Scheduled for completion in early 2007 is a 35,000 sq. ft. tenant renovation project Located in southwest Atlanta, GA. Metropolitan Bowling Lanes is a portion of the Metro Fitness center where patrons engage in a wide variety of sporting and athletic activities. MPI's role providing the electrical design for the bowling facilities. The interior includes thirty (30) bowling lanes that are operated with Brunswick bowling equipment. |
